Children’s formative years are in many ways shaped by visual learning. Protecting their eyesight and looking after their ocular health is an important part of supporting them as they learn to see the world. We take children’s eye care seriously, ensuring that all of our young patients get regular testing and any vision correction they need. To make it easy for you to take care of your children’s eyes, we make our practice, examinations and eyewear as child-friendly as possible with specialised options for every age group.
We know sometimes having an eye test can be a bit nerve wracking for our little patients so we always make them as simple and fun as possible
You might notice some differences in how we test our littlest patients as we tailor the tests to suit their age group - so don't worry if they don't know their letters yet, or if they get a bit wriggly in the chair - we adapt things to suit them!
Our optometrists also understand how important it is to catch eye conditions early, so they make sure all examinations are detailed and thorough.
Children in the UK are eligible for free eye examinations through the NHS if they are under 16 (or under 19 and studying full-time).
Glasses are an important part of how children see the world, but they also make a big difference to their confidence and comfort. We make sure our selection of glasses includes plenty of styles to suit every personality and different sizes and material option to ensure comfortable wear.
Our dispensing team have plenty of experience helping children pick out their glasses, so don't hesitate to ask if you would like some extra information.
